Chicago Politics: From Mayor Daley to Mayor Lightfoot

In April 2019, Chicago made history by electing its first African American female mayor, Lori Lightfoot. She has since worked to address issues such as government transparency, police reform, and economic development, all while facing the challenges of a city with entrenched political interests and systemic problems.
