Exploring the Role of Eddy Currents in Electrical Engineering

Eddy currents are circular electric currents that are induced in a conductor when it is exposed to a changing magnetic field. These currents create their own magnetic field, which opposes the original magnetic field that induced them. This phenomenon has both practical applications and challenges in electrical engineering.

In these systems, a magnetic field is created by either a permanent magnet or an electromagnet, which induces eddy currents in a metal plate attached to the moving part of the train or roller coaster.
